Bulk Actions

Bulk Actions

Many list pages in OTS Signs support bulk actions, but the available actions vary by page. Select multiple rows and a bulk action bar appears with operations that apply to the selected rows.

ActionHow
Select one rowClick the checkbox at the start of the row
Select all rows on the pageClick the checkbox in the table header
Select a rangeClick a row’s checkbox, then Shift+click another
Clear the selectionClick any selected checkbox again, or click Cancel in the bulk action bar

The header checkbox only selects rows on the current page. To select more, page through and continue selecting, or filter the list down first.

When at least one row is selected, a bar appears at the bottom of the page showing:

  • The selection count (e.g. 5 selected).
  • Action buttons — the set depends on the page (see below).
  • Cancel — clears the selection without doing anything.

Bulk operations always confirm before running, and destructive ones (delete, unassign) require a second confirmation.

The exact list depends on the page and your permissions. Current common actions:

  • Tag N items — apply tags to every selected file.
  • Delete N — delete selected files.
  • In Purge List view: Restore N and Delete Permanently.
  • Tag N layouts — apply tags via the tag picker.
  • Delete N — delete selected layouts.
  • Tag N playlists — apply tags via the tag picker.
  • Delete N — delete selected playlists.

  • Delete — delete the selected rows, with confirmation.

Displays currently use row-level actions such as authorize, edit, move to folder, and player commands. They do not expose a bulk action bar in the current UI.

What happens if some rows can’t be changed?

Section titled “What happens if some rows can’t be changed?”

If your selection includes rows you do not have permission to modify, or rows that cannot be changed, the operation reports failures after it runs. Some bulk deletes can partially succeed; review the result toast before assuming every selected row changed.

  • The header checkbox selects rows on the current page only.
  • Tag operations are immediate.
  • Deletes are permanent; there is no undo. See page-specific docs for extra warnings.
